Vancouver is Filled With Beauty and Entertaiment

Vancouver, British Columbia, is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cities anywhere in the world. This Canadian highlight is a multi-cultural city on the oceanfront with some of the best activities to suit every taste.

One of the most visited spots in Vancouver, and rightly so, is Granville Island. It sits right in the middle of town and is definitely a fun place for people of all ages to spend the day. One of the popular features is the Emily Carr College of Art, filled with items by local and international artisans. You can also rent a kayak or canoe and enjoy some time on the water. The biggest attraction here are the shops, featuring every kind of unique gift and food item you can imagine.

Vancouver's Chinatown is a large area located in an old section of downtown, brimming with interesting restaurants, shops and ethnic markets. During the summer months, the Night Market brings out hundreds of vendors who line the streets offering traditional Asian handicrafts, ethnic foods and clothing, as well as a vast assortment of gift items.

Spending a day at Science World is one of the most popular of all things to do in Vancouver for children from 8 to 80, more or less. You will find it at the end of the Skytrain commuter railway, in a huge golf ball shaped dome. The exhibits are all hands-on and they offer films and demonstrations that are educational as well as entertaining.

For the animal lovers in the crowd, there's the Vancouver Aquarium and Marine Science Centre, located in Stanley Park. They have more than 8,000 fascinating sea creatures on display. Their Pacific Canada Pavilion features sea life and educational exhibits that mainly represent the Georgia Strait area. There is also a wonderful Amazon gallery with reptiles and other animals. To top it off, they have regular beluga, orca, and dolphin shows to keep visitors amused.

Stanley Park is also the best place for walking, biking or rollerblading. You can enjoy the beautiful mountain and ocean vistas or stroll along the vast seawall that circles around Lost Lagoon Lake. Stanley Park has a miniature train and Farmyard for the kids and the old Sylvia Hotel, near the entrance to the park, serves up marvelous food and drinks.

Another magnet for Vancouver sightseeing is the Capilano Suspension Bridge and accompanying 27-acre park. A pedestrian bridge hovers 230 feet above the Capilano River and gives visitors an excellent view of the quiet splendor of the vast coastal forest. The park also includes seven other suspension bridges strung through the treetops of the ancient Douglas fir forest, up to 100 feet above the ground. This creates an in the air walkway where you can walk from one tree to another on the unique bridges.

We will continue to update this site and add the best, top, and most popular restaurants, steakhouses, things to do, seafood, and travel links to the list in the Vancouver area. If you know of a popular restaurant, steakhouse, resort, tourist attraction, hotel, resort, spa, pizza joint, nightclub or pub. Please let us know and we will add all the best ones, so everyone in Vancouver can dine in style.
