Austin, the capital of Texas is best known as “The Live Music Capital of the World” though the Austinites prefer their unofficial slogan “Keep Austin Weird” which refers to the city's unique character. Either way, both slogans are probably the best way to describe the city which offers exiting urban vacations and just about something for everyone including nature lovers.

The city is famous for its bar and club scene most of which feature live music of all genres and suit just about everyone's taste. Austin has more music venues per capita than any other US city. The best bars and nightclubs are found in the famous Sixth Street including the Antone's Nightclub, Stubb's BBQ and other places you probably already heard of. Austin is also home to numerous music festivals such as the South by Southwest Music Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Urban Music Festival and many others making the city truly “The Live Music Capital of the World”.

Live music venues may be a good reason to visit Austin but the city offers much more than a vibrant music scene seven days a week. History buffs will love Austin's historical museums such as Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Texas State Capitol which is just few blocks south of the museum and is an absolute must-see if visiting Austin for the first time. The impressive Capitol which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as National Historic Landmark is completely open to the public seven days a week. When built in 1888, the Texas State Capitol was the seventh largest building in the world and is even fourteen feet taller than the US Capitol building. But that is not the only reason why Capitol is worth visiting, while its interior its just as spectacular as the exterior. If being interested in history you will also like the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, Texas Governor's Mansion, William Sidney Porter House and the Austin steam train ride from Cedar Park to Bertram (and back) which also includes the tour of the historic 1912 train depot in Bertram.

Austin visitors who are interested in arts and culture will enjoy the Blanton Museum of Art, Austin Museum of Art, Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, and Mexic-Arte Museum, while nature lovers will be thrilled by the world's largest urban population of Mexican free-tailed bats under the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. The best site to observe about 1.5 million bats is the Lady Bird Lake, the easternmost lake of the chain of reservoirs on the Colorado River. Worth visiting is also the Zilker Botanical Garden in the Zilker Park near downtown Austin as well as Austin Nature and Science Center on the western edge of the Zilker Park offering exciting wildlife exhibits.

Austin is a city like no other. Vibrant music scene, world-class entertainment attractions, great shopping, fine dinning, lots to see and do, and the southern hospitality make the capital of Texas a one of the kind experience.

Austin is a very diverse city. The geography, weather, and culture provide visitors to Austin a wide range of options for things to do and sightseeing opportunities. The motto "Keep Austin Weird" gives you an idea of how unique this city is.

Austin sits on the Colorado River and has three man-made lakes within the city limits. Lady Bird Lake, Lake Austin, and Lake Walter E. Long enable water tours and lots of water sports activities. You can rent canoes, paddleboat's, or just swim. Also located in the city limits is the foot of Lake Travis and Mansfield Dam.

There are several city tours that provide you with a variety of ways to see the city. Take a cruise, rent a Segway or Bicycle, or ride the trolley.

Walk through SoCo in downtown Austin, it is filled with interesting shops, coffee shops, restaurants and more.
